Kimberly Hodgkinson is an experienced healthcare CFO who has balanced strategic and operational leadership in large and complex health systems. Kim has a track record of partnering with physicians and operations to create high-performance teams that achieve financial sustainability in regional and national health systems ranging from two to ten hospitals.
Her previous leadership as CFO includes Hospital Sisters Health Systems (Springfield, IL), Mount Carmel Health System (a member of Trinity Health in Columbus, OH), PeaceHealth (Vancouver, WA), and multiple markets for Ascension. She served as “tip of the spear” in executing health system transformations from holding to operational companies, including standardized work, improved efficiencies, and operational alignment with best practices.
With undergraduate and graduate degrees in nuclear physics, Kim is a systems thinker with perspective from diverse experiences that contribute to her ability to make mission-critical decisions. A driven leader with care for the business and its people, she has consistently enhanced treasury services and the debt profile of the institutions she serves, including upgrading debt rating and redesigning investment services, maintaining post-COVID debt ratings, and identifying millions in bank services savings
Kim is also uniquely equipped to function at the intersection of finance and technology, having led the rationalization, optimization, and implementation of information technology for hospital and ambulatory services across 3 separate systems. These included two 5-of-5 star-rated implementations of EPIC and a total EHR consolidation within one of the largest health systems in the U.S.
She is a Fellow for both the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and the American College of Healthcare Executives. In 2023, Becker’s Hospital Review named her on its lists of “126 Hospital and Health System CFOs to Know” and “182 Women Hospital and Health System CFOs to know,” and the Portland Business Journal named her Portland’s CFO of the year in 2019.
With her career thus far spanning from Jacksonville, FL, to Vancouver, WA, and including Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Oregon, and Ohio, Kim has recently returned to reside in her native Michigan. When taking time to relax, Kim enjoys spending time with her husband Tom and her Goldendoodle Bo as well as golfing, college football, and exploring new places.
